FaZe Clan has been upsetting the esports community after letting go of a lot of pro gamers and influencers. One of the most emotional may have been Kalei Renay, the only female gamer on FaZe Clan.
FaZe Banks has taken over FaZe Clan again after the org was purchased by Gamesquare. Some of his initial decisions have been removing long-time members to “reboot” the brand. He admitted he doesn’t mind “being the bad guy.”
He explained on X: “One of FaZe’s biggest issues has been how separated everyone’s been in terms of vision, value, type of content, direction career is headed. And all I can really say is, we feel like it’s important to be very clear-cut about who’s actively representing the brand the way we want it to be represented.”
FaZe Banks went on to tweet that the content creators have been “greedy pigs.” The organization then tweeted about the creators being let go in a clip that seemed a bit flippant.

Kalei removed from FaZe Clan
On April 28, Kalei announced the sad news that she was being removed from FaZe Clan. She was in tears as she explained that she had so much “passion” for the org that she wasn’t even getting paid to stream anymore and still stayed.
“I stayed because I loved it,” Kalei said.
Kalei started crying as she admitted she was told that she would remain on the org, which ended up not being true. She then agreed with a joke that she was removed because she had no “crypto content” despite being a top Call of Duty streamer. She then explained that she was “treated like she was stupid” by the org and felt “ignored.”
Some in the content creation space felt that Kalei was kicked from the org for being a woman in gaming while others felt it was due to her lack of gaming skills. Either way, some fans said she was the only reason people even respected FaZe anymore and noted that she would have better luck without the “dying” org.
Said one gamer: “She should take this and use it as fuel. Women in gaming should come together and make their own organization.”
